(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Today, Senate Bill (SB) 1236, by Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel), passed off of the Senate Floor.  The bill will improve road safety by implementing new federal commercial truck driving regulations, as well as add additional truck driver safety requirements

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Today, Senate Bill (SB) 1192 by Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel) passed off of the Senate Floor and is on its way to Governor Brown’s desk.  
SB 1192 requires a restaurant, which serves a meal primarily targeted and marketed to children, to make the default drink option served in bundled meals a healthful beverage - water, sparkling water, flavored water with no added sweeteners, or milk.

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Today, the Legislature passed Senate Bill (SB) 1113, by Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel), which authorizes the state's Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission to create voluntary guidelines to combat stigma and normalize the discussion of mental health in the workplace.

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Today, Senate Bill (SB) 1090, authored by Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel) and Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham (R-San Luis Obispo), which would mitigate the impact of the Diablo Canyon plant closure, passed off of the Assembly Floor and is on its way to the Governor.

(BIG SUR, CA) – Today, CalTrans hosted a ribbon cutting to celebrate the reopening of Highway 1 at Mud Creek after being closed for more than a year.  It features a new 1/4-mile roadway that will realign the fractured highway and restores southern access to Big Sur.

(SACRAMENTO, CA)  - Legislation to allow commercial arbitration proceedings in California, Senate Bill (SB) 766 authored by Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel), has moved to the Governor’s desk.
“The selection of a venue in international commercial arbitrations is highly competitive and frequently depends on how hospitable the proposed venue is viewed by international parties and their lawyers,” Senator Monning said.  “California is at a disadvantage because there is no explicit authorization for this legal process and SB 766 will address this impediment.”
