 (SACRAMENTO, CA) – Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel) is pleased to announce that he has been appointed to the California Coastal Conservancy by Senate President Pro Tempore Toni Atkins.
“It is an honor to be selected to serve on the California Coastal Conservancy,” said Senator Monning.  “We must continue to use creative approaches to ensure Californians have access to our coastal areas and that they are protected for future generations to enjoy.”

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – In another important public health victory, Senate Bill (SB) 347, which requires sugary beverages sold in California to have a health-warning label, passed out of the Senate Committee on Health on a 5-1 vote.

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – A legal settlement that protects whales and sea turtles from entanglement in commercial Dungeness crab gear was announced today by the Center for Biological Diversity, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), and the Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen's Associations (PCFFA).

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel) has named Diana Jimenez as the 17th Senate District’s 2019 “Woman of the Year”.  Ms. Jimenez will take part in a ceremony on the Floor of the California State Senate on March 4, 2019, as part of the California Legislative Women’s Caucus annual tribute to outstanding California women during Women’s History Month.
