(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Today, Pacific Wildlife Care was honored as the 17th Senate District Nonprofit of the Year by Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel).  Pacific Wildlife Care is the only licensed rehabilitation center in San Luis Obispo County that cares for injured birds, mammals, and reptiles.

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Yesterday the California State Senate passed Senate Bill (SB) 1090 off of the Senate Floor.  The bill is a bipartisan effort authored by Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel) and Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham (R-San Luis Obispo) to aid in the mitigation of the impact of the Diablo Canyon plant closure.

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – This week, bipartisan legislation, authored by Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel) and Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham (R-San Luis Obispo), to mitigate the impact of the Diablo Canyon plant closure, earned key committee approval.   Senate Bill (SB) 1090 passed out of both the Senate Committee on Energy, Utilities and Communications and the Senate Committee on Environmental Quality.

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Senate Bill (SB) 941, authored by Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel) in 2014 will go into law on January 1, 2018.  The bill requires boaters to pass a boating education examination and obtain a vessel operator card in order to operate a motorized boat in California.  The California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways (DWB) is now accepting Boater Card applications.
