Bill to Require Basic Safety Training for Truck Drivers Passes Key Senate Committee

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Today, the Senate Transportation and Housing Committee passed Senate Bill (SB) 158 by Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel), which will improve road safety by implementing new federal commercial truck driving regulations, as well as adding additional truck driver safety requirements.

The State Recognizes First California Wildlife Day Tomorrow

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Tomorrow, the State of California will recognize the first annual California Wildlife Day to celebrate the state’s diverse and unique ecosystem.  This month, the Legislature unanimously passed Senate Concurrent Resolution (SCR) 23 by Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel) to establish California Wildlife Day every year on the Spring Equinox, which, in 2017, falls on the 20th of March.

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Today, the California Assembly passed Senate Concurrent Resolution (SCR) 23, by Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel), to establish California Wildlife Day in the state.

State Senate passes resolution establishing California Wildlife Day

The office of Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel) announced that the California State Senate passed Senate Concurrent Resolution (SCR) 23 on Feb. 23, establishing California Wildlife Day. The resolution, introduced by Monning on Feb. 14, recognize the state’s diverse and unique ecosystem. The resolution now moves to the State Assembly.
 
“This resolution is designed to recognize one of our state’s greatest resources – its environment,” Senator Monning said.
