Chuck Molnar, Senior Corner: California pols help older residents

On May 20 the California secretary of state formerly chaptered into law Senate Joint Resolution 4 relative to the federal Older Americans Act of 1965.

Originally proposed by a member of the California Senior Legislature and authored by Sen. Bill Monning of Monterey, this resolution states that resolved by the Senate and the Assembly (it was so popular in the Assembly that all 80 members asked to be named as co-authors) of the state of California, jointly, that the Legislature memorializes the president and the Congress of the United States to enact appropriate legislation that would reauthorize the federal Older Americans Act of 1965.
