April 27, 2017

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel) released the following statement that the final financing agreement for the construction of the City of Paso Robles Tertiary Treatment Facilities project has been approved by the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB). The project will help restore balance to the Paso Robles Groundwater Basin and create a reliable water source for communities in San Luis Obispo County.

“The construction of the City of Paso Robles Tertiary Treatment Facilities project is an important step in establishing a reliable water source for the City and surrounding communities,” Senator Monning said. “I am proud to have worked with Assemblymember Cunningham on this issue, and I laud the City’s hard work and success in securing the critical financing agreement to begin construction.”

Senator Monning and Assemblymember Jordan Cunningham (R-Templeton) collaborated and encouraged the SWRCB to grant funding to the City of Paso Robles for the water recycling facility.  Construction is set to begin in 2017.  The City first applied for the financing in September 2015.
